La Jolla Marriott

La Jolla Marriott on Wednesday night is my favorite place because they have salsa night.

I have been dancing salsa for a couple of years now. I regard myself as an intermediate level dancer.

I have never been in a team or audition, but I went to La Habana, Cuba in 2009 and danced with the locals and the professional dancers at the stage of Tropicana, the biggest cabaret in Central/ South America.

Please let me write about my international trip some other time because I have been to over 15 countries so far. I love traveling.

So.. back to the topic. La Jolla Marriott has salsa night every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. From 8:30pm to 9:30pm, they have a free salsa and bachata lesson, then you are free to dance on the floor afterwards.

Basically I go dance on Wednesdays because there is no cover charge the whole night. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is cover charge of $10 after 8pm, which I have never tried.

I fully enjoy dancing at this venue because many of the people there are experienced, meaning many of the guys there can lead well. I sometimes take the free lesson for warm-up and learn more sexy bachata movement. If I can't make it to the lesson, I just jump on to the floor.

I know lots of people are actually interested in dancing salsa, but they just don't have the chance. If you want to try, please do let me know. I am more than happy to go with you. Nothing is going to intimidate or shake you. Come on! It is a latin dance. :-)
